Granted, my cut was on a knuckle, stretching towards my wrist on the back of my hand - but it was for this reason that I needed a butterfly bandage and a normal bandage wouldn't keep it closed to heal. This didn't do any better. Worked great!
These helped close a 3/4" cut on the top of my hand that I probably should have gotten 1-2 stitches for. I used two spaced out for the first 4-5 days then just one after it started to stay closed another 3-4 days. I covered with either a non-stick gauze pad taped down or a large band-aid and then wrapped and they stayed in place for up to 48 hours. Make sure to wipe the surrounding area with an alcohol swab so they stick well.
