This shampoo left my scalp tingling and mildly burning, so I looked at the ingredients and saw methylisothiazolinone as a preservative, which is so allergenic that it was named the contact allergen of the year in 2013 by the American Contact Dermatitis Society. This is especially frustrating when Head and Shoulders really emphasizes that their products are "paraben free" despite parabens being declared as the 2019 NON-allergen of the year by the same society! Parabens are a safe and well-tolerated preservative despite public misconceptions. It's frustrating that H&S feeds into this misinformation. Apart from the bad science and irritating preservative, this shampoo does have a nice smell and texture and left my hair soft even though it irritated my scalp. So it gets 3 stars.
