Before using the Class 2 Power Supply, read these instructions carefully. Use with adapter CA51 Rated input voltage: 100 ;240V AC, 50/60Hz 0.2A Rated output: 6.0V DC 70mA OPERATION 1. For dry location use only. Do not expose to water. 2. When not in use, unplug unit completely. 3. Unit will become warm during operation. CAUTION 1. Dry location use only. Do not operate any appliance that has a damaged output cord or housing. 4. Always unplug the unit before cleaning or when not in use. 5. For connection to a power supply not in the U.S.A., use an attachment plug adapter of the proper configuration for power outlet. The adapter included automatically adjusts to the input voltage. DO NOT USE WITH A VOLTAGE CONVERTER. TRIMMER OPERATING PRECAUTIONS This trimmer has a built-in rechargeable battery. Do not throw into fire, apply heat, or charge, use or leave in a high-temperature environment. CAUTION: Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the Conair; Corporation, the manufacturer of this product and the party responsible for compliance, could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. TROUBLESHOOTING If your rechargeable trimmer does not seem to be taking a charge, take the following troubleshooting steps before returning it for repair: 1. Be sure the electrical outlet is working by plugging in another appliance to test the outlet. 2. Make sure the electrical plug is not connected to a switch that turns power off when lights are turned off. 3. Make sure the adapter is inserted into the trimmer properly, all the connections are secure and that the trimmer is in the OFF position. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CHARGING 1. Before using your trimmer for the first time, charge it for 16 hours. Always charge the trimmer with the ON/OFF switch in the OFF position.
2. Always check to see if the charging light is on when you charge the trimmer. 3. Plug the adapter into any wall outlet (at the voltage listed on the label affixed to the adapter). Unplug adapter when not in use.
4. The adapter may become warm while charging. This is normal. 5. Battery life can be improved by periodically allowing the trimmer to run until the motor stops. Immediately shut the switch off and fully recharge.
6. Maximum battery capacity will only be reached after three complete charging and discharging cycles. 7. To maintain the optimum capacity of the rechargeable batteries, the trimmer should be recharged for 16 hours approximately every six months.
THREE-POSITION TAPER CONTROL The ConairMan® trimmer taper control switch is positioned at the back of the unit. You can hold the trimmer in your hand and adjust the switch as needed.
The taper control eliminates the need in some situations for a comb attachment because it lets you gradually adjust the closeness of the cut. For closest cut and shortest hair, push switch all the way to level #3.
This is the setting to use for the 2-day shave look. To increase the cutting length, slowly push control down to level #2 or #1 for longer cut. Note that too much clipped hair on the clipper can slow down its operation.
To remove it without removing the blades, simply use a cleaning brush and gently sweep away the clipped hair from cutting surfaces. NOTE: The taper control only works with the facial hair trimmer.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS REMOVING THE BLADE SET 1. Make sure the trimmer is in the OFF position. 2. Place your thumb against the smaller cutter and push up to remove the blade set.
REPLACING THE BLADE SET 1. Make sure the trimmer is in the OFF position. 2. Align the back prong of the trimmer blade with the guide slot on the trimmer housing, place your thumb on top of the blade and snap into place.
OILING THE BLADES 1. Oil the trimmer once a month. 2. Turn the trimmer on. 3. Hold and point the blades downward. 4. Spread one drop of oil across the blades. 5. Turn the trimmer off and wipe away any excess oil.
NOTE: 1. Do not over-oil the blades, as this can damage the motor. 2. Do not oil the motor bearing, as it is permanently lubricated. 3. KEEP OIL AWAY FROM CHILDREN
