So efficient & professional
I don't feel like the NP really listened to how my condition started. If she had, I might not have been misdiagnosed. I got a second opinion 2 days later and am now on the right treatment.
I could not get an online appointment on Memorial Day so I just walked in. The Nurse Practitioner warned me that they had appointments booked every ten minutes but they would try to squeeze me in if someone did not show for their appointment. I waited about 20 minutes and there was an opening. I was very pleased with the appointment wait time and the professionalism of both the nurse and nurse practitioner.
I was seeing very quickly, and I felt that the doctor was very thorough. An also very friendly.
I came to minute clinic because I was bit by a tick several days ago, and I was presenting with a rash. I was seeking preventative care for a possible Lyme infection or the host of other diseases ticks can carry. The NP that saw me felt compelled to tell me that her "father is a hunter and has had dozens of tick bites and was never treated, and he's fine. People see a news clip about ticks and blow things out of proportion." I thought this was a callous response considering that she hadn't even seen the rash at that point, and the preventative treatment is simply a one-time dose of doxycycline. Upon seeing the severity of the rash she agreed to prescribe the medication. I work in healthcare. When a patient comes to a provider with a concern, it's ok to be honest and to let them know they're not at risk for whatever it is that they're concerned about. There's a professional and empathetic way to convey that. I'm not sure why it was necessary for her to include an anecdote that essentially served to diminish me. I don't know if this provider is under pressure to not prescribe meds, or she needs a refresher on the importance of listening to those in her care with curiosity and empathy. I won't be returning to minute clinic for further care.

I went in for a sore throat and the strep test came back negative. After requesting to be sent out for culture I was told it was 99% accurate and that whatever I had was viral. I was still in so much pain so I went to Aultman urgent care 2 hours later and was produced with a positive strep test and positive for pharyngitis. I was immediately sent to the ER.
Your staff started with The Provider who in our experience with health care persons was very professional yet addressed our concerns with compassion. Then were were directed to The Provider who handled our problem and gave us plenty of time to solve our situation in an efficient manner! We will definitely use CVS minute clinic again!
