I am a Veteran Affairs patient and the nurse/health provider didn't know the codes for Veterans Healthcare. Had to wait 3 hours!!!
The check in process is to cumbersome. You shouldn't have to put it your credit card before being seen. I have insurance and also was going to be self pay on this visit. Also it should be easier to change an appointment. The text messages to confirm it's you shouldn't be sent if you are already logged in. Otherwise I would score it a strong 9. Gracias.
I was very sick with a high fever and uti. I was able to make an appointment and was given antibiotics.
I was seen almost instantly which was wonderful, but things went downhill from there. Communication with the provider was not easy, a she spoke with a heavy accent. I was very surprised as to how much the visit costs, and that no antibiotics were prescribed.
I was in and out as per my appointment
Courteous, professional service. The reason for an 8 instead of a 10 is that I scheduled a 12:10 appointment during my lunch hour, but was not called in until 12:25.
The nurse practioner that I met with was patient, kind and well informed.
The clinic was able to get me in with short notice, the dr/nurse was understanding and took the time to help with my issue, such a great experience!
The lady (black braided hair) was unfriendly, not empathetic, asked me when i had my last vaccine and why i had not have it… i understand these are standard questions…. But asking "why" was not a standard questions. I was in 8 - 9 pain from throat, she acted like a robot, performed the test, asked questions and that's it. No warmth, no empathy.

The first time I visited, the clinic was closed when it was supposed to be open. I was told they were having personnel problems. The next day, the nurse practitioner told me I would have to schedule another appointment if I wanted treatment for two symptoms, both of which are related to seasonal allergies. She was only willing to prescribe a cream that had proven ineffective on its own for a rash that occurs every year, that has been treated every year that I have been in Roanoke during the same time period for the last twenty years. She seemed to be operating under a never-trust-the-patient policy even though the patient was not requesting a controlled substance. Basically, this NP needs the condition to worsen to an extreme before she will believe the patient's ability to recount her own medical history. Medical staff should have access to patient's records from previous visits to the clinic. This NP claimed she only had access to non-related medical history, including a list of daily medications and past surgeries. She did not have access to records of medication prescribed last year at this particular Minute Clinic. If the clinic does not keep track of records, patients must manifest the same progression of symptoms in order to receive adequate treatment, trying methods that have failed in the past, enduring exacerbations of the same condition, which seems unnecessary when other treatments have been more effective in the past.
